After 20 years of not participating at the Mt. Carmel Cross Country Invitational, one of the largest meets in Souther California, Crawford returned in an impressive fashion. The 2.95 mile course awarded medals to the top 60 runners in each race. Each race had an average of about 220 runners.
In the freshmen race, Maung Lay finished 13th, with the team’s second fastest time of the day, 18:41.
The junior men were led by Rodrigo Uyu, who finished 31st with 18:04 (posting the team’s fastest time). He was followed by teammate Marco Tamez in 62nd with 18:55, Luis Anastasio 79th with 19:25, Erick Cisneros in 166th with 21:44, and Eh Ler Tha in 181th with 22:22. With 5 runners, the junior boys were the only division to field a complete team from Crawford, and they finished 12th out of 20 teams in the junior division race.
Senior Marlon Jimenez rounded out the day with 21:20, placing 160th.
Stay posted for September 30th, when the men will be joined by the lady Colts and a group of freshmen boys eager to compete at the Coach Downey XC Classic.
